When she finally warms up to him, he reveals his true identity but leaves her all alone. It’s a delightfully silly tale of human nature, brought wonderfully to life by the incomparable Ms. Zwerger.

“The translation, vigorous and fresh, retains the acerbic tone as well as Andersen’s characteristic storytelling style….
The pictures are both comic and earthy.”
– THE HORN BOOK
